Help Revitalize the Ponce Historic Zone
Located in southern Puerto Rico, Ponce is the island’s second largest city and a major contributor to its political, social, economic, and cultural development. With architecture reflecting this history, Ponce’s downtown is a Designated Historic Zone, one of the island’s first and largest.
In the span of three years, two generation-defining natural disasters have threatened Ponce’s built heritage: Hurricane Maria in 2017, and ongoing earthquakes and tremors in 2020. Plans to revitalize Ponce’s Historic Zone are underway, but they will need significant funding and support.
Send a letter calling on Puerto Rico’s elected officials to identify and propose funding options for the recovery and rehabilitation of the Ponce Historic Zone.
