Urge Your Members of Congress to Support the Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity Act (H.R. 2294 / S.2266)

Legislation has now been introduced in both the House and Senate that would make long overdue changes to the Historic Tax Credit. In April 2021, Representatives Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Darin LaHood (R-IL) introduced the Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity Act (HTC-GO) in the House of Representatives, which now has nearly 60 bipartisan cosponsors. Similar legislation was introduced in the Senate (S.2266) in June 2021 by Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Maria Cantwell (D-WA). and Susan Collins (R-ME). Both bills include provisions that would permanently add value to the HTC, improve access to the credit, and increase investment in smaller rehabilitation projects. H.R. 2294 also includes temporary tax provisions that will bring relief to projects impacted by the pandemic.

Ask your members of Congress to support HTC-GO and to include the bill provisions in the budget reconciliation bill.
